Miles Rind is a frequent performer with
opera companies and concert organizations in New England. He has
performed on stage with Boston Lyric Opera, Opera New England, Opera
Boston, Worcester Opera Works, Longwood Opera, Lowell House Opera,
Opera del West, and Boston Bel Canto Opera, and in concerts with the
Paul Madore Chorale, the Masterworks
Chorale, the Arlington-Belmont Chorale, the Nashua Symphony Choral
Society, and the Newton
Community Chorus. His recent operatic roles include Figaro and Bartolo
in Le nozze
di Figaro, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Coppélius and
Dr. Miracle in The Tales of Hoffmann, Colline in La
Bohème, Horace Giddens in Regina, and Balthazar in Amahl
and the Night Visitors. His concert credits include the title role
of Mendelssohn's Elijah, Raphael and Adam in Haydn's The
Creation, Schlendrian in Bach's Coffee Cantata, and solos
in Brahms's German Requiem, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation
Mass, Verdi's Requiem,
and Puccini's Messa di Gloria.
A native of Seattle, Mr. Rind began his
singing career while a graduate student in philosophy at the University
of Chicago. By the time he had obtained his doctorate, he had performed
principal roles in five operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan, as well as
comprimario roles in Tosca, Carmen, and The Magic
Flute. Since moving to the Boston area, he has enjoyed an even more
active musical career. In the summer and fall of 2007, he will be
appearing as a soloist in "summer sings" with the Paul Madore Chorale
and the Masterworks Chorale, and in operatic productions with Opera del
West and Longwood
